Axe murderer fallacy

My friend and I were talking the other night about The Rules For Safety. You know the ones. The Don't Let An Appendage Dangle Over The Edge While Sleeping rule. And one thing we covered was the topic of the axe murderers (yes, axes! they are very popular weapons donchaknow!) and how we all Know that they lurk in the bushes that you may or may not have, just waiting for the right moment. Like when you get creeped out by their palpable presence after dark and you shut the curtains. We noted that its like an unspoken agreement. They get to Lurk and Watch and you won't close a forgotten curtain. It's ok to close your shades in the dusky twilight hours. It's just that if you forget and it is now Dark, you've entered a dangerous contract. They Watch and Lurk (maybe not in that order) and you um...pretend not to be terrified and you Don't Touch The Curtains until morning.

I might have more to add but alas, work beckons.
